Third murder investigation of the year in Saline County

Johnathan Albertsen, 23, of Bauxite is being charged with first degree murder and aggravated assault.

The Saline County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide that occurred in Bauxite late Saturday.
Lt. Scotty Courtney said 23-year-old Bauxite resident Johnathan Albertsen is being charged with first degree murder and aggravated assault on a family or household member for allegedly fatally stabbing his step-father, 48-year-old Joseph A. Gonsalves. The stabbing reportedly occurred during a domestic dispute between the two men.
Gonsalves was transported to Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton and was later pronounced deceased.
As of press time, Albertsen is being held in the Saline County jail without bond, pending a bond trial in Benton District Court.
This marks the third murder investigation of 2013 in Saline County. Late Friday, deputies responded to the 7400 block of Brimer Road in Mabelvale and found 33-year-old Chris Yarberry with stab wounds.
Saline Memorial Hospital Ambulance Service also arrived and transported Yarberry to Olive Hill Road to meet with a Med-Flight crew, the report said. Courtney said that Yarberry was later pronounced dead at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
Deputies arrested 36-year-old George David Davidson early Saturday and as of press time, he remains in the Saline County jail facing a charge of first-degree murder.
On Jan. 27, the body of 19-year-old Gregory Tyrone Pikes of Benton was discovered by two men in a leased hunting area off River Road in Haskell. Courtney said the body has been sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab and detectives are working leads to identify suspects in the murder.
