Thomas Eugene “Tom” Montgomery

Thomas Eugene “Tom” Montgomery, 79, of Alexander passed away March 5. He was born Nov. 11, 1933 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Tom was a retired overland transporter for several different funeral homes, a former Saline County Reserve Deputy, and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Mamie Montgomery.
Hs is survived by his wife, Wanda Montgomery of Alexander; sons Mike Montgomery of Benton and Steven Montgomery of Alexander; daughters Lori Montgomery, Tina McCullough, and Amy Montgomery, all of Iowa; brothers Jimmy Montgomery and Douglas Montgomery, both of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sisters Betty Broughton Coker of Alabama, Carolyn Mullenax of Echola, Ala., and Libby Crawford of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; eight grandchildren; even great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at Pine Crest Cemetery by Ashby Funeral Home. Minister will be the Rev. Doug Pruitt.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 8 at Ashby’s.
