Timothy Austin Davis

Timothy Austin Davis, 53, of Bauxite went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 22, 2013, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant.
He was born Sept. 27, 1959, in Malvern to L.A. and Louise Davis.
Tim Davis will be remembered as a beloved Papa, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was loved by many people, touched the lives of many, and was a man strong of faith. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and family.
Tim was a 1978 honor graduate from Bauxite High School. In 1981, he married Shelly Renee Sullivan, the love of his life. In 1985, they had their daughter, Tai, and a son, DaKoda, in 1986. He surrendered to the ministry in 1996 and was ordained as a minister in 1998 at West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church. He later attended the Missionary Baptist Seminary, graduating with an associate degree in 2001. He pastored Fair Haven Missionary Baptist Church from 1998 to 2001, then Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church from 2001 to 2006. He was a member of West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church.
Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Olice and Velma Davis and Bill and Evelyn Draper.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Shelly, of Bauxite; two sons DaKoda Davis and Bernhard Meck of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Tai, of Bauxite; three grandsons who were his world, Landyn, Cameron, and Clayton; his parents L.A. and Louise Davis of Bauxite; two sisters, JoAnn Lambert and husband Derek of Bauxite and Charlotte Turner and husband Joey of Tull; two nieces, Alisha Bienick and husband Eric of Benton and Angela Lampkin and husband Brad of Redfield; one nephew, Dustin Turner and wife Leslie of Tull; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 25, at West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church in Bauxite with the Rev. Danny Hill and the Rev. Melvin Burris officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Billy Ward, Ronnie Rounsaville, Mark Phillips, Sam Riggan, Roger Nivens, Tommy Barnes, Bruce Armstrong and Ty Westlake. Honorary pallbearers are Matt Sievers and Stan Burks in memory of Carl Burks, Tim’s best friend.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 24 at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Timothy Davis Fund at Hurricane Creek Federal Credit Union to help with funeral and medical expenses.
