Troyce Thelbert Halpain

January 21, 2013

Troyce Thelbert Halpain went to be with the Lord on Jan. 19. He was born to Callie and Homer Halpain on Nov. 5, 1931, and raised by Prudy and William Hall. He attended Collegeville Church of the Nazarene on Hilldale Road. He was deeply loved by his children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all. Except for God and family, his first love was his music. He loved to play and listen to his children sing. He worked hard and gave 100 percent at every job and everything he did. We were so blessed to have had him in our lives.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Faye Williams Halpain; his parents, Callie and Homer Halpain and Prudy and William Hall; four Halpain sisters, Helen Arey, Lucille Vales, Dafie McClain and Lois Wilson; three brothers, Isom Halpain, Andrew Halpain and Coy Halpain; four Hall sisters, Odell Hall, Adell Samples, Violet Brown, Frances Williams; two brothers, Roy Hall and Doyle Hall; and one grandson Jermie Bumgardner.
He is survived by five children, Leda Allen of Alexander, Karen Baumgartner and husband Randy of Alexander, Gary Halpain and wife Debbie of Alexander, Jerry Halpain and wife Teresa of Alexander, Patty Johnson and husband Bruce of Benton; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Ashby Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Yarberry officiating. Burial will follow at Pipkin Cemetery on Congo Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Collegeville Church of the Nazarene. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the funeral home.
