Vance B. Hogue Jr., 84, of Benton, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013. 
He was born Dec. 3, 1928, in Winchester. Mr. Hogue retired from Arkansas Best Freight as an Over the Road Driver.  He was a member of Dumas Uited Methodist Church and a retired Teamster. 
Mr. Hogue was preceded in death by his parents, Vance B. Hogue Sr. and Ida Mae Brown Hogue; a daughter, Jennie Hogue; six siblings, Florence Walton, Fred Hogue, Betty Lou Haisty, Emma Hogue, Viola Wheetley and Rita Hogue; and a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Hogue.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Jean Hogue of Benton; three children, Betty Jo Taylor of St. Louis, Mo., Johnny Hogue and wife Karen of Kimberling City, Mo., and Judy Wooten of Benton; six grandchildren, Jennie Barron and husband Todd, John Hogue Jr. and wife Caroline, Jason Taylor and wife Dalena, Travis Wooten, Allison Hogue, and Kelsie Merrill and husband, Travis; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, David Hogue and wife Hazel of Redfield, Jim Hogue and wife Jerrianna of Redfield, Gary Hogue and wife Alma of Sheridan; sisters, Virginia Edington of Hot Springs, Mary Gantt of Livingston, Tenn., Lucille Wayson of Cookeville, Tenn., Olivia Kirkpatrick and husband Jerry of Mabelvale, Lynn Jones and husband Maxie of Harrison; and his beloved poodle, Pierre.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Ashby Funeral Home with Brother Kim Hammer officiating. Burial was in Forest Hills Cemetery.
