Employees of Westside Pharmacy found their business had been burglarized early Wednesday.
Lt. Kevin Russell, public information officer for the Benton Police Department, said officers found that the suspects used forcible entry to gain access to the pharmacy. Details on how the burglars broke into the building was not released as of press time, but Russell said "details will be forthcoming on this incident."
The burglars reportedly took an undisclosed amount of medications from the business. Russell said detectives are diligently working leads in the case and additional information will be broadcast as it becomes available. He also said that the public is needed to help solve this case.
"We are urging anyone who noticed anything suspicious or out of the ordinary at the pharmacy to call us," Russell said.
It was 4:30 a.m. when Benton officers were dispatched to Westside Pharmacy, located at 620 W. South Street.
