James Benjamin Ezell Jr.

James Benjamin Ezell Jr., 86, of Benton, died Aug. 22, 2014. He was born June 9, 1928, in Gorgas, Ala., to James Benjamin Ezell and Lucille Hurn Ezell.
He graduated from the University of North Alabama in Florence, Ala., in 1951 with a degree in chemistry, biology, and psychology, and worked for Reynolds Metals in Sheffield, Ala., for two years before serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Bennie Sue Parsons

Bennie Sue Parsons, 70, of Alexander arrived at her heavenly home on Tues. Aug 12, 2014. She was born in Nashville, Ark on July 17, 1944 to the late Ira Alton and Gladys Mae Robertson. She had retired in 2011 from Sysco Arkansas to spend more time with her family and only grandson.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one nephew.

John Fred Chunn Sr.

August 26, 2014

John Fred Chunn Sr. of Benton passed from this life unto a better one at the age of 68 on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014.
Fred was an artist, master carpenter, eloquent calligraphist and a loving husband, dad, grandad, brother, uncle and friend. He retired from Dassault Falcon Jet in August 2011. He was born in Weatherford, Texas, on June 26, 1946.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nadine Halcombe Hixon of Arkadelphia and Curtis Wilson Chunn of Bridgeport, Texas.

Katherine Danielle Palludan

Katherine Danielle Palludan 21, of Bryant, passed away Aug. 17, 2014, after multiple heart surgeries. Her parents were by her side at the time.
Katherine was born on Oct. 30, 1992, to Philip and Deborah Palludan in Little Rock. She attended UALR and walked magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Anthropology.
Katherine worked as an educator for the Museum of Discovery in Little Rock, where she loved to teach children about science and all of the fun and mysterious aspects of the world.

Mildred Elaine Darby Crumby

Mildred Elaine Darby Crumby, age 89, passed peacefully from this world to Heaven on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at the Malvern Nursing Home.
Mildred was born to Francis Chafer and Ava Alice Brooks Darby in Drumwright, Okla., on March 10, 1925. She was a retired medical secretary for the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center in Hot Springs.
In addition, she was secretary for the Hot Spring County Health Department in Malvern. She began her career in Richmond, Calif., as a secretary in the manufacturing industry in which warships were built during World War II.

Oleta Stroud Howard

Oleta Stroud Howard, 91, of Hewitt, Texas, formerly of Bryant, left this earth Aug. 23, 2014, to be with her Heavenly Father and family.  She was born Feb. 6, 1923 in Lambert. 
Mrs. Howard was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Little Rock. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Patrick Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Thomas; her husband, Frank Howard; three brothers; two sisters, one grandson and one great-grandson.

Billy Edgar Apple

Billy Edgar Apple, 81, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 22, 2014. He was born September 5, 1932 in Salado, to the late Hubert S. Apple and May Manuel Apple. He was retired from the Small Business Administration as a disaster loan officer. He was a long time member and deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Juanita Apple; brothers, Dale Apple and Clifton Apple.

Mitty Jean Billing

Mitty Jean Billing, age 88, of Alexander passed away Sunday August 24, 2014. She was born January 23, 1926 in North Little Rock. Mitty was retired from St. Vincent Medical Center as a seamstress, past volunteer at Southwest Hospital and at Saline Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Collegeville Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Joye Gilliam Fudge, husband, Edward H.  “Ted” Billing, son, Larry Billing, two brothers, and step-mom, Wanda Fudge.

Jo Carol Harris

Jo Carol Harris, 81, of Benton passed away Aug. 20, 2014. She was born Aug. 13, 1933 in Haskell. Jo Carol graduated from Harmony Grove High School and went on to graduate from the St. Vincent School of Nursing in Little Rock after which she worked as an RN for the State Hospital in Little Rock. She was a member of North Side Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ord and Mildred Mitchell, husband Virgil Clifton Harris and a son, Gregory Lynn Harris.

William 'Sam' Brewer

William “Sam” Brewer, 70, of Benton passed away at his home Aug. 20, 2014.
He was born Aug. 9, 1944, in Plainview to the late William and Icel Madden Brewer.
After graduation, Sam served in the Army, holding the rank of first lieutenant. After his military service, he worked for many years for Carter Oil Co. and then several years for John Olner Builders.  He retired three years ago.
He loved his church family very much and cherished many good times with special friends Carlos and Margie Irizarry.
