Troy D. Sheridan

Troy D. Sheridan, Sr., 73, of Benton passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice House in Bryant. He was born September 30, 1940 in Bauxite to the late Elsworth and Ora Webster Sheridan. Mr. Sheridan had worked as a security officer.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Wilson Sheridan of Benton and two sons, Troy D. Jr. and wife Nancy Sheridan of Hot Springs and William C. and wife Diana Sheridan of Benton.
An internment will be held later at Bauxite Cemetery.

Valery Mae Turpin Bruner

Valery Mae Turpin Bruner, 84 of Mabelvale, went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2014. She was born June 7, 1930 to Guy E. Turpin and Zenobia Bobbitt in Hugo, Oklahoma.
She is survived by three daughters; JoAnn Hill (Gene) of Mabelvale, Susan Hill, of Little Rock and Patty Taylor (Mike) of Mabelvale, son; Tommy Staggs (Tina) Little Rock, six grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, two brothers; Melvin “Ray” Turpin and William “Bill” M. Turpin and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.

Cheryl Beth Fox

Cheryl Beth Fox aka "Pook", of Benton, passed on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at National Park Hospital in beautiful Hot Springs, at the age of 64. She was born on March 8, 1950 in the "Home of Blues & BBQ", Memphis, TN. She attended Treadwell High School. (c/o 1968) She worked for the Board of Education and spent 30 years at FedEx-Memphis/Sacramento. Retiring with honors. 21 gun salute-trumpets-a parade... All the bells & whistles...
She was married to Ora R Fox of Sacramento, CA for 17 love-filled years. They were the bestest of buddies.

James E. Baxley

July 29, 2014

James E. Baxley, of Benton, was born at home in the Sardis Community of Saline County, on December 27, 1929 to Will D. and Emma Caple Baxley and departed this life on July 27, 2014 at the age of 84.  He served his country in the U.S. Army over-seas during the Korean War.

Larry L. Bryan

Larry L. Bryan of Bryant, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014.  He was born May 19, 1940 to Miles Clellon Bryan and Minnie McKnight Bryan. He was a member of the County Line Baptist Church, Texarkana and was retired from Cooper Tire as an Industrial Electrician and was a member of the USWA Local 752L.
He was best known as the “Gadget Man” and loved to fish and was a very hard worker, and dedicated family man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Billie Pippin Bryan, son; Larry Paul Bryan, one sister and two brothers. 

Maria Rebecca (Becky) Rhea

Maria Rebecca (Becky) Rhea, 71, of Benton, went to be with her Lord Jesus July 27, 2014.  Becky was born February 6, 1943 to the late Alvino Landeros and Felicitas Sandoval of Tepic Nayarit, Mexico.  She was a recently retired employee of Arkansas Electric Cooperatives where she worked for 30 years.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Telisa Ann Sikes and two sisters, Angelina Landeros and Rosario Landeros.

Larry Wayne Goodson

Larry Wayne Goodson, 63, of Benton passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014.  He was a son of Rex E. Goodson and Lois (Holland) Malone. Mr. Goodson was an over the road truck driver for several companies.  He served in the Air Force as a fireman.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
He is survived by his parents; son, William Burton; daughters, Susan Keown (Jesse) and Tammie Beasley; seven grandchildren, Julie Goodson, Jesse Keown, Jr., Caleb Wyman, Erika Viverette, David Beasley, Jacob Beasley, and Daniel Beasley; two sisters; and one brother.

David L. Shewmaker

David L. Shewmaker, 53, of Bryant, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 26, 2014. David was born in Paragould, on November 4th,1960 to W.T. and Neva Shewmaker. David graduated from Paragould High School in 1978 and received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Arkansas State University. David's career as a software engineer spanned 32 years most recently with SAP of Walldorf, Germany.

William Troy Skinner

William Troy Skinner Sr., 78, of Benton passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. He was born Sept. 2, 1935 in Greenbrier, to Luther and Jessie (Bates) Skinner.
Troy served in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends, playing the guitar, hunting, fishing, camping and spending lots of time with his dog, Lady.
Troy was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Betty Skinner; and his sister, Pauline Murphey.

Dawn Rennea Moore

Dawn Rennea Moore, 43, of Mabelvale, passed away July 24, 2014. She was born on May 3, 1971 in Phoenix, Arizona to the late Orval and Lou Ella Zufet Steen.
Dawn is survived by her loving husband, Bill Moore of Mabelvale; four sisters, Cindy Osburn, Cheryll Dyer, De Steen, Shawna Oulch; three brothers, James Steen, Charles Steen, Jason Steen; and many other family members and friends who loved Dawn and will miss her always.
