Wanda L. King

Wanda L. King, 86, of Benton went to be with the Lord on Oct. 24, 2014.  She was born Dec. 12, 1927, in Perry to the late Dovie and William Gwin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; three sisters; and a son, Larry King. 
She is survived by her husband, Carl D. King; a son, Carl King Jr.; two grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Cremation was through Ashby Funeral Home.

Armetha Reynolds

Armetha Reynolds, 79, of Benton passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014.  She was born Oct. 26, 1935, in Benton.
Mrs. Reynolds was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian M. and Viola Buffington; and her husband, Bob Reynolds.
She is survived by her son, Robert Reynolds of Atlanta, Texas; a daughter, Belinda Elwick of Atlanta, Texas; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hicks Cemetery. 

Rosie Elizabeth Wheeler

Rosie Elizabeth Wheeler, a lifelong resident of Benton, was called away to her heavenly home on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at the age of 83.
She was born Feb. 1, 1931, to William V. and Cleo Wheeler and joins her parents; a brother, William Monroe Wheeler; a niece, Cheryl Anne Wages; and numerous other beloved relatives awaiting her. 
Rosie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Cody Dallas Durham

Cody Dallas Durham, 22, of Bryant passed away Oct. 27, 2014. He was born Aug. 27, 1992, in Phoenix, Ariz.
Cody is survived by his father, Michael Durham; his stepmother, Denise Durham; his mother, Natalie Durham-Grays; a son, Gabriel Weston Durham; Rachel Childers; a brother, Evan Thomas; a sister, Gracie Durham; his grandmothers, Peggy Durham and Kathy Faulkner; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cody was loved by all who knew him and will be missed always.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.Thursday, Oct. 30, at Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene in Alexander.

Elois Gossien Morris Oldner

Elois Gossien Morris Oldner of Grapevine was born on December 12, 1930 to Carl and Ethel Gossien.  She was a member of Bethany #1 Missionary Baptist Church at Grapevine.  She loved being with her family and enjoyed making and painting crafts. Mrs. Oldner passed away at her home on Saturday, October 25, 2014. 
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; two husbands, Harold Morris and Johnie Oldner; brother, Ray Gossien; three sisters, Edith Rider, Gearldee Baker, and Shirley Ainsworth; and by her beloved sons, Carl Morris and Ronnie Nickels.

Elsie Mae Ashcraft

Elsie Mae Ashcraft, 85, of Alexander went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014.
She was born Oct. 3, 1929, in Sheridan to the late A.N. Ward and Thelma Dortch Ward. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family. She was employed by the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (state Revenue Department).
Mrs. Ashcraft was a member of Temple Baptist Church for almost 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carolyn Sue Ashcraft; and a sister, Ethel Faye Torres.

June S. Caldwell Maner

June S. Caldwell Maner, 80, of Benton passed away Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014. 
She was born May 22, 1934, in Ogden to the late Harold and Ninette Scholes.
She was retired from Benton Public Schools after many years of loving service. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and the Senior Ladies Bible Study.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Harry G. Caldwell; her parents; and her brothers, Bob and Harold Scholes.

Betty K. Powell

Betty K. Powell, 75, of Bryant, passed away on Oct. 22, 2014. She was born on July 25, 1939 to Kermit and Lessie Green. 
Betty is survived by her husband of 57 years, Tommy Powell. She also is survived by one daughter, Debbie Robinson; two sons, Gary Powell and Neil Powell; grandchildren, Josh, Erin and Justin; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Ian and Ireland; sisters, Sara May and Dorothy Powell; brother, Billy Joe Green and a host of family and friends.
Betty enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family especially with her grandkids.

Horace Isdora Lovell

Horace Isdora Lovell, 88 of Benton, passed away Oct. 23, 2014.  He was born Feb. 28, 1926 in Saline County to the late Newton and Dorie Harris Lovell. Horace attended First Presbyterian Church of Benton and served in the United States Navy. He worked and retired from Benton Services Center as an LPTN.
Horace was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jack and Franklin Lovell and sister, Elizabeth Gaston.

Aurther “Art” Lee Carpenter

Aurther “Art” Lee Carpenter, 72, of Benton, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014. He was born on June 1, 1942 in Hot Springs, to Vernice and Mrytle Sanders Carpenter.
He was a devoted family man who enjoyed making mosaics, working in the yard and restoring old cars, but shared his lifelong passion for horses and raised Foxtrotters with his adoring wife.
Mr. Carpenter is preceded in death by his parents.
