Prentis Ralph Field Sr.

Prentis Ralph Field Sr., 77, of Benton, died Jan. 24, 2015.
He was born Jan. 24, 1937 in Reedsville, West Virginia, to the late Charles Ray and Goldie Field.
He was a United States Air Force veteran and an appliance repairman. He never met a stranger. He loved children, his family and life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

Marilyn Lucille Cox

A lifetime resident of Benton, and a proud and treasured member of the Benton High School class of 1961, Marilyn Lucille Cox left behind the struggles of a life of polio on Jan. 25, 2015.
Despite contracting polio in the second grade, Marilyn graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway and earned a Master of Arts degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Zachary Andrew Ratliff

Zachary Andrew Ratliff, age 30, of Benton passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2015.
He was born in Hot Springs on April 21, 1984, to Gene and Robin (George) Ratliff.
He loved coaching one of the 8-year-old Bryant All Star Baseball teams and his son's basketball team. He was very active in the activities of his children. He loved spending time with his family, especially his wife and children, who were the light of his life.

Jessie L. Hood

Jessie L. Hood, age 86, of Benton died Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at his home. He was born Feb. 16, 1928 at Union Town, Arkansas.
He worked in the timber and logging industry.
Jessie retired at an early age and got to do the things he loved — fishing, hunting, camping, talking and telling stories of long ago to all of his grandkids, great-grandkids and anyone that would listen.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vesta Hood; one sister; and three brothers.

Mardella Taylor

Mardella Taylor, age 60, of Mabelvale, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015. She was born Sept. 15, 1954 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Ulmer and Betty (Youle) Armentrout.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ethel May Kirby; and her father-in-law, Robert Taylor.
She enjoyed working as a waitress at El Chico, where she was employed for 16 years. She was of the Christian faith.

Bonnie Lee Ward

Bonnie Lee Ward, age 87, of Benton, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2015.  She was born Jan. 20, 1928 in Benton. 
Mrs. Ward was a retired telephone operator at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and a member of Wrights Chapel Baptist Church. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Lois Scott; her husband, Boyd Ward; a daughter, Frances Cushing; and a brother, Clyde Scott.

Irene C. Marks

Irene C. Marks, 96, of Alexander flew into the arms of the angels on Jan. 23, 2015. 
She was born Nov. 20, 1918, in Cleburne County, living most of her younger years in the Good Springs Community.  She was a member of the Good Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
Irene was a homemaker. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis J. and Leota Cathey; her husband, Hubert H. Marks; a brother, Lloyd Cathey; and her sisters, Adell Dennis of Arizona and Odell of California.

Stacey V. Bell

Stacey V. Bell, 37, of Jacksonville, passed away Jan. 17, 2015. She was born Jan. 11, 1978 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Myron Bell and the late Ruth Kilian Bell.
Stacey is survived by her father, Myron Bell; son, Bobby Pye; daughters, Jade and Elizabeth Pye; sister, Sonya Attaway; aunts Sherry Bennett and Shirley Bell; as well as many other family members and friends who loved her and will miss her always.

Willie Mae English

Willie Mae English, 75, of Bryant, departed this earth with her family at her side on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015. She was born Nov. 18, 1939 in Arkansas. Mae retired from Southwest Medical Clinic in the Medical Records Dept.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Swanner and Geneva Childress Swanner; and her first love, Calvin Andrew George.
