A woman accused of fleeing from police has been charged with multiple crimes.
Heidie Taylor, 48, is charged with fleeing by vehicle, unauthorized use of another person's property to facilitate a crime, fleeing on foot, refusal to submit to arrest, driving on suspended license, littering, criminal mischief, DWI-drugs and reckless driving.
At 1:19 a.m. today, Benton Police Officers were notified about a possible intoxicated driver in the area of the Interstate 30 North Service Road near the 116 Exit.
Officers located the vehicle, but when they attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver did not pull over and instead sped up, according to a police report of the incident.
The chase reportedly continued onto Arkansas 229 and U.S. 67 in Haskell.
The driver reportedly lost control and crashed into a ditch on Grand Avenue in Haskell.
Officers were able to apprehend Taylor after a short on-foot pursuit.
According to the police report, Taylor was very incoherent and had trouble standing on her own, and was eventually transported to Saline Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Taylor was admitted for an undisclosed medical issue and will be arrested upon release.
