Dani and Tim Martin announced via a Facebook Live on Wednesday that they will be renaming Blue Suede Shoes Antique Mall The Cotton Shed Vintage Market.
The couple said along with the name change shoppers can expect to see a facelift to the mall which will be divided up into three sections for different types of shoppers.
Tim Martin said the name is something the couple had come up with many years ago and hoped to some day use as a business name.
The market will host "local vendors from all over Arkansas featuring antique, vintage and handcrafted treasures" according to their brand statement. The statement said the name come from cotton being where many things in Arkansas originate.
"Cotton becomes the fabric that warms us around a bonfire, comforts us during sadness, dresses our table as we gather for a meal, and dances along with us in times of joy. It’s from this spirit that the Cotton Shed Vintage Market was born," the statement said.
In the Facebook live, the pair who originally owned the name had it trademarked and are moving out at the end of April. The business will keep the name temporarily during the transition as formerly Blue Suede Shoes.
Three people won $50 gift certificates from the market for guessing the name correctly based on hints that had been posted to the Facebook page. The winners are Tammy Magnum, Sharon Bass and Rhonda Roberts.
The Cotton Shed currently has a sale going on the celebrate its anniversary with discounts at all the booths.
