Freddie “Mack” Ball

Freddie “Mack” Ball, 76, passed to his heavenly home on Friday, October 26.  Mack was born September 24, 1936 in Saline County and was the son of Janice Ball and Benton Poe.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Elzie and Maud Ball; his sisters Merle Poe, Doris Burrows, Willie Glover, Marie Ball; brother Lindsey Ball and a special uncle Tazel Poe.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Lois (Rhoads) Ball and son Ron Ball (Camille) and the light of his life, grandsons, Matthew and Casey.  Also he was survived by his sister Freda Tucker, brother Erby Ball, and a host of close relatives.
He retired after 46 years from Mack’s Dental Lab.  He was member of the Army National Guard for ten years.  He was a die-hard fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and enjoyed watching all the sporting events.  Yet his greatest enjoyment came from watching his grandsons participate in athletics and grow up to be fine young men.
Pallbearers are Bobby Glover, Freddy Tucker, MC “Buck” Tucker, Eddie Poe, Dickie Poe, Donnie Burrows and Wayne Burrows.  Honorary pallbearers are Gary Kettles, Bill Stubblefield, John Crouse, Marc Gross and Ernie France. 
The family wishes to thank friends and relatives for their prayers, love and support in the past year.  The family wants to extend thanks to Dr. Mendelsohn and staffs at Little Rock Hematology & Oncology, Baptist Carti, St Vincent’s Carti, Saline Memorial Hospice and a special thanks to the Benton firefighters. 
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Vilonia United Methodist Church, Indian Springs Baptist Church or the Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice.
The family will receive friends at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton, Monday 6-8pm. 
Funeral will be Tuesday, 10am at Ashby’s with burial at McPherson Cemetery.  Brother Tom Williams will be presiding.
